Certification confirms sustainable management / Regional products play a central role in the kitchen
The Strandhotel Zingst has once again been certified by GreenSign for its sustainable management practices. The audit assessed the environmental, social, and economic aspects of the hotel’s operations. A key component of this is the hotel’s collaboration with regional producers and suppliers.
Zingst, July 27, 2026. Following its first certification in 2023, the Strandhotel Zingst’s renewed GreenSign certification reaffirms the path it has chosen. The hotel regularly reviews its operational processes and continues to develop measures in the areas of procurement, resource consumption, social responsibility, and economic development.
This commitment is particularly evident in the kitchen. Fish, meat, vegetables, baked goods, dairy products, juices, and other food items are sourced from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania whenever possible. Partners include, among others, fishing companies from Zingst, Barth, and Barhöft, as well as producers from Pruchten, Marlow, Born am Darß, and Ahrenshagen Daskow. A current map lists a total of 21 regional and national suppliers.

GreenSign views sustainability as the interplay of environmental, social, and economic factors. For the “Strandhotel Zingst,” the certification therefore serves not only as an accolade but also as an external review of its own management practices.
About the “Strandhotel Zingst”
The “Strandhotel Zingst,” which has been owner-operated since January 2022 and is managed by the asset manager “Jagdfeld Real Estate,” is located on the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula. In 2024, it underwent a comprehensive renovation costing nearly €7 million. It features 122 rooms and suites, as well as a 1,400 m² spa and wellness area with indoor and outdoor pools, a whirlpool, an infrared cabin, saunas, and a fitness room, the Nautica restaurant, and the Oyster Bar. It is 50 meters to the town center, and the beach is a two-minute walk away. The resort is located directly on the Zingst pier in the unspoiled national park, between the Baltic Sea and the Bodden.
