Arnoldsweiler, local supplier

Exemplary in terms of sustainability and accessibility, including photovoltaics and fast-charging stations for electric cars

June 26, 2024: Start of construction of the most modern and sustainable local convenience store in Düren, North Rhine-Westphalia, in our development portfolio. On the 10,000 m² site in the Arnoldsweiler district, a total of 1,521 m² of rental space is being created, which has been let on a long-term basis to Netto Marken-Discount and the Leo bakery and confectionery from Aachen, which will operate a café there. There are also 75 parking spaces.

“The highlight is the high degree of sustainability, which is rarely achieved today. I am particularly pleased that we can realize this prime example of sustainable construction at our home location in Düren. And the people of Arnoldsweiler finally have short distances to a renowned hybrid full-range retailer with over 5,000 items,” explained Benedikt Jagdfeld, CEO & Owner of Jagdfeld Real Estate, at the ground-breaking ceremony on Neusser Strasse/Mörikestrasse.

In fact, a large number of measures speak for the particularly high level of sustainability:

  • The building will be constructed to BEG 55 standard and will have a photovoltaic system with a capacity of at least 95 kWp on the roof, which will also be greened to improve air conditioning and biodiversity.
  • Heat recovery takes place via the refrigeration system, heat pump technology is used and fossil fuels are completely dispensed with.
  • A rainwater retention system is installed for the surface water, and infiltration trenches collect the rainwater and allow it to seep away or discharge it into the rainwater drain.
  • Energy-saving LED lighting is also installed throughout the building.
  • E-car drivers will be delighted with the two fast-charging stations with four charging options.
  • The discount store and café will be barrier-free.

“This is not the first time that we have successfully overcome all the hurdles in a challenging process and will complete this sustainable local supplier for our partners this year,” said a delighted Armin Elsen, the responsible project developer Jagdfeld Real Estate.
