The Plaza Frankfurter Allee mixed-use quarter is located directly on the Magistrale of the same name – one of the central shopping and main traffic arteries in Berlin’s Friedrichshain district. Conversion and extension for the IU International University:
In 2020, the former hotel space in Plaza Frankfurter Allee was extensively converted into the new Berlin campus of IU International University within twelve months. After completing the one-year conversion work, Jagdfeld Real Estate handed over the modernized space to the university.
Modern teaching and seminar rooms were created on around 5,600 m² and an additional 300 m² of storage space, which also meet the highest digital requirements. Jagdfeld Real Estate invested a total of around €8.5 million in the conversion. To the press release.
In June 2023, asset manager Jagdfeld Real Estate extensively refurbished a further 4,100 m² of space for the tenant IU International University and let it on a new and long-term lease. To the press release.
In the summer of 2025, the IU International University site was once again significantly expanded. After a planning and conversion phase lasting around 14 months, Jagdfeld Real Estate provided an additional 2,000 m² of high-quality redesigned space on the 3rd and 4th floors. The areas previously used as office space were converted into modern training and seminar rooms and now offer space for up to 600 people for flexible and contemporary learning and working. With around 11,700 m², IU’s Berlin campus has doubled in size within five years – impressive proof of sustainable growth and close, long-term cooperation with local tenants.

Conversion of underground parking garage:
After a construction period of around 20 months, Jagdfeld Real Estate was able to complete the comprehensive refurbishment of the 700-space underground parking garage at “PLAZA Frankfurter Allee” on schedule in 2023. The two underground levels of the parking garage in Berlin’s Friedrichshain district were extensively renovated in seven construction phases at a cost of more than €2.5 million. The aim was to maintain the ongoing operation of the shopping, office, restaurant and university location without restrictions during the entire construction phase. To the press release.
