98 rooms on the 1st and 2nd floors now have a timeless, classic look/ Both floors completely renovated/ Public areas and technical facilities modernized/ More than € 10.6 million has been invested since 2020
Düren/Aachen, 29 January 2026: Asset manager Jagdfeld Real Estate has now invested a further €2 million in the “Parkhotel Quellenhof Aachen”, once again underpinning its promise to revitalize Aachen’s premier address in a resource-efficient manner:
- The 98 rooms and suites on the 1st and 2nd floors as well as the “Kurmittelhaus” were extensively modernized during ongoing operations and received new carpets and curtains, among other things; furniture and marble tiles in the bathrooms were refurbished or replaced. The suites have been particularly upgraded.
- In the banqueting area, curtains and the wall coverings in the “Berlin” conference room were replaced and the music systems in the “London” and “Vienna” rooms were renewed; new banqueting tables and 200 chairs now provide numerous options for dinner arrangements and meetings.
- The large oven system in the main kitchen was completely and extensively renovated, the cold stores were renewed and the walkways in the kitchen were optimized. The installation of LED lighting and motion detectors, initially primarily in the underground garage area, was also carried out for ecological and economic reasons.
- The building automation system was upgraded with a new central computer, the grease separator was replaced, the fire alarm system was extended and parts of the waste water systems in the basement rooms were renovated.
- A modern barrier system together with control and billing electronics enables convenient parking in the underground garage as well as in the outdoor parking lot.

“After we first completely renovated the rooms on the 3rd floor, the rooms on the 1st and 2nd floors are now also unrecognizable. We deliberately chose different color concepts that match the style of the hotel, but still give each room its own individual flair. Our guests can now expect a visibly improved ‘Quellenhof’, which has strengthened its grand hotel character,” says Benedikt Jagdfeld, Head of Jagdfeld Real Estate.
As a result, the modernization project remained practically on schedule and went almost without a hitch, even though the tradesmen had to work while operations continued. As in the past, we have once again used resources as sparingly as possible and given priority to sensible processing over disposal.
The concept of careful, ongoing modernization will therefore be continued in the future. The renewal and refurbishment of refrigeration and ventilation systems will take place as planned over the course of the year.
Investments of more than € 10 million since Quellenhof became independent
Entrepreneur Jagdfeld points to the enormous commitment since the owners decided to break away from the management of hotel chains: “Since we have been running the ‘Parkhotel Quellenhof Aachen’ as an independent Grand Hotel in 2020, we have invested around € 10.6 million. Whether in the rooms or the public areas, on the terrace or in the spa – everywhere our guests feel and appreciate the special comfort of the only Grand Hotel in the wider region,” says Jagdfeld.
The “Parkhotel Quellenhof” in Aachen
In the spring of 1913, construction began on what was then the “Hotel Palace Aachener Quellenhof”, which opened on June 8, 1916. During the Second World War, in the fall of 1944, the entire interior fell victim to destruction and looting, and the lobby was completely destroyed. Only the structure of the Quellenhof building was preserved, the bathing facilities of the spa center were almost completely destroyed.
Reconstruction took years, and it was not until 1948 that the first hotel rooms were available again. After acquiring the “Parkhotel Quellenhof” from the city, “Jagdfeld Real Estate” completely modernized and renovated it in 1998/1999 and opened it in 1999 as Aachen’s first and only grand hotel on 18,848 m². In 2001 and 2002, the hotel with its then 181 rooms and suites was extended by a conference, wellness and beauty center of 3,122 m².
The asset manager has managed the current “Parkhotel Quellenhof Aachen” since the beginning (1999) on behalf of an owner company, which decided in 2019 to run the hotel as an individual grand hotel under its own management from 2020. Since then, the “Quellenhof” with its current 128 rooms and suites has been carefully and extensively modernized during ongoing operations.
