The audit assessed the environmental, social, and economic aspects of the hotel\u2019s operations. A key component of this is the hotel\u2019s collaboration with regional producers and suppliers.  <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Zingst, July 27, 2026.<\/strong> Following its first certification in 2023, the Strandhotel Zingst\u2019s renewed GreenSign certification reaffirms the path it has chosen. The hotel regularly reviews its operational processes and continues to develop measures in the areas of procurement, resource consumption, social responsibility, and economic development.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This commitment is particularly evident in the kitchen. Fish, meat, vegetables, baked goods, dairy products, juices, and other food items are sourced from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania whenever possible. Partners include, among others, fishing companies from Zingst, Barth, and Barh\u00f6ft, as well as producers from Pruchten, Marlow, Born am Dar\u00df, and Ahrenshagen Daskow. A current map lists a total of 21 regional and national suppliers.     <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c<em>&#8220;Sustainability must be integrated into our day-to-day operations. For our kitchen, this means knowing where our ingredients come from, maintaining strong regional partnerships, and taking seasonal availability into account when planning. This recertification confirms the quality of our work.&#8221;  <\/em>, says Kai Harmsen, general manager of the \u201cStrandhotel Zingst.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">GreenSign views sustainability as the interplay of environmental, social, and economic factors. For the \u201cStrandhotel Zingst,\u201d the certification therefore serves not only as an accolade but also as an external review of its own management practices. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>About the \u201cStrandhotel Zingst\u201d<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The \u201cStrandhotel Zingst,\u201d which has been owner-operated since January 2022 and is managed by the asset manager \u201cJagdfeld Real Estate,\u201d is located on the Fischland-Dar\u00df-Zingst peninsula. In 2024, it underwent a comprehensive renovation costing nearly \u20ac7 million. It features 122 rooms and suites, as well as a 1,400 m\u00b2 spa and wellness area with indoor and outdoor pools, a whirlpool, an infrared cabin, saunas, and a fitness room, the Nautica restaurant, and the Oyster Bar. It is 50 meters to the town center, and the beach is a two-minute walk away.
